Monthly Wrap-Up: SEPTEMBER 2017

Welcome October!!! We are almost at the end of 2017, how fast could a day go by? My friend just recently tweeted that “a day without reading, is a day wasted” and I couldn’t agree more. This is probably the first time I posted a wrap-up that isn’t a few weeks late. I finally continued my TOG Reread-Readathon! *yayy* Unfortunately, I only read four books this month due to research paper guilt whenever I decide to read. Hopefully this coming October, I’d be able to finish the whole series since our semester will end soon.

Rereading Throne of Glass is such a pleasure, I am so so happy that I finally got a chance to reread this! It feels like greeting an old friend and looking at it in a brighter way. The book just keeps on reminding me why I fell in love with Sarah J. Maas books. If you haven’t read this book yet, you better! You’re missing half of your high fantasy life.

Next on my short list is Habang Wala Pa Sila, a spoken word poetry book by a local poet. He’s so popular in today’s generation and you could see him on TV as well, his name’s Juan Miguel Severo. I LOVE THIS BOOK. It crushed me! *Haha* The poetry book is written in Filipino language, some of it were so deep I don’t really get it, but all in all it made me feel SO MUCH. I just borrowed a copy from my friend, and I’m planning to buy my own copy soon.

After mourning my heart out from that poetry book, I picked up the second book of the series and my favorite of the original investment of the series, CROWN OF MIDNIGHT. Oh no, there are no words for me to describe what a roller coaster ride it was reading this. I guess no matter how many times I reread this book, I would still feel the same way. Up till now I am still hurting for my break ups with Dorian and Chaol *HAHA*

Lastly, Paulo Coelho’s By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept. This took me weeks to finish although it’s too short. I don’t know but I always get bored reading this, it was dragging. But of course the quotes from the book are all on point, but still the whole story was pointless. The ending was such a *meh* Anyway, I’ll write a short review about this soon.

That’s everything for this month, my goal for next month is to read twice as much this month. 🙂 What have you read this month? What do you think of this Paulo Coelho’s book?
